Love that Cartier is now getting full recognition for the incredible design and history they bring to the watch table. And here we certainly have epic design - what I believe is a sleeper in their stable - the Cartier Roadster. Modeled after a classic car, Cartier only produced this beauty for about a decade, and it’s been discontinued since 2012. Still incredibly undervalued (though like all Cartier timepieces, that won’t last long) ESPECIALLY this variation, the rarer black and gray Roman dial!

YEAR: Mid 2000s

DIAL: The lesser seen black and gray Roman dial with classic Cartier Roman numerals. The center of the dial looks black in some light and then turns to this gunmetal gray… add in the concentric circles and it’s just plain sexy! A super clean example, all protected under that sweet sapphire crystal with integrated date bubble!



CASE: Stainless steel case measuring 37MM x 44MM - talk about classic design meets modern sizing, this wears beautifully! A whole lot of presence on the wrist, while still being classy (shown on my 6.6 inch wrist.) Case is in really nice shape, light wear, as expected, mainly on the bezel and case back, but all in a fantastic example!



MOVEMENT: Service history unknown but the Cartier automatic is running beautifully, winding feels nice and smooth, quickset date works perfectly and timegrapher numbers are great at 16 second a day and a healthy amplitude of 260.

BRACELET: On its original Cartier bracelet with polished outer links, brushed inner links, and Cartier’s quick release system - another beautiful design element. Also has light wear throughout, but also presents beautifully, with great hidden double butterfly clasp. Will fit up to app. a 7 inch wrist.
