I am selling a vintage automatic watch from the German brand Prätina:

I have not found any information on the connection between Yema and Prätina, but it turns out that a number of Prätina from this period are only "rebadged" Yema:

We find the same sport strap on all Yema Y10 models of the time:
- The 1976 LCD (ref. 02017):

- The 1978 Quartz (ref. 26 220 1 AD):

It is equipped with a French movement France Ebauches FE 3611, as on the automatic Yema of the time:

CONDITION:

The watch is in good condition for a watch approximately 50 years old (See Photos).
Note inevitable traces of wear on the case, the glass and the folding clasp, but nothing shocking for its age.
Pretty homogeneous vanilla/eggshell patina between the indexes and hands (originally non-luminescent).

WORKING ORDER:

The movement works very well: Starts immediately, Keeps the time (drift less than 25 s. after 24 hours of operation) and changes the date ok.
Winding also possible at the crown.
Functional quick date setting.

OTHER:

There is no trace of oxidation.
The watch is entirely original.
The original "Made in France" bracelet is identical to that of the Yema Y10 of the time.
The original strap is currently adjusted for a 16.5/17 cm wrist. Note that there remain 6 fine adjustment holes at the buckle, allowing it to be enlarged by + 1.8 cm.
The buckle has 8 holes spaced 3 mm apart each, for optimum adjustment.

Yema is a watchmaking company in Besançon, France. They claim that their watches "stand out from the rest by virtue of their specific design and technological characteristics".

Founded in 1948 in Besançon (Doubs) by Henry Louis Belmont, the company distinguished itself in the very beginning by creating the first automatic chronometers manufactured entirely in France, and became famous for the technical qualities and sports characteristics of its watches.

Having been owned by Seiko Watch Corporation of Japan since 1988, the company recently returned to French hands via a buyout by Louis Eric Beckensteiner. As a result, a transition is occurring as of September, 2005. The new Chairman has set a target for watch sales of 50,000 in 2005 and 100,000 pieces with a turnover of 10 million euros in 2008.
