Hi crew! I have another classic dive watch up for grabs, the Doxa Sub 1200T. What is unique about this Doxa is that it was a limited run of 1200 watches, built and rated to 1200M of water resistance but still retains the vibe of the OG 300T with comfortable dimensions of 42.7mm x 44.6mm x 14.4mm. It also comes with Doxa’s excellent beads of rice bracelet and an on the fly adjustable clasp. I would put the condition of this example at 87%. There are light, noticeable swirls and hairlines in the polished case side surfaces and polished bezel as is common with these. There are a few microscopic marks in a few places on the case but the crystal is clean and the watch presents beautifully on the wrist. The bracelet and clasp both have some wear and desk diving marks. The watch will come with its Doxa tube, warranty card dated 1/2019 and spare links. Doxa, founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun, began as a maker of dress watches and other timepieces. Over the years, Doxa gained in size and branched out into other timekeeping markets. (Wristwatches, Armbanduhren, Montres-bracelets; Brunner, Gisbert L; Pfeiffer-Belli, Christian; Koneman, 2006)

In the late 1960s Doxa decided to devote resources to create a watch to be used for diving. Tests indicated that an orange face was more visible in murky water. Doxa also consulted with divers, including Jacques Cousteau, then chairman of "U.S. Divers," and Claude Wesly (a Cousteau companion and the first man to spend seven days thirty-three feet underwater). A staff of engineers and professional divers was assembled to create a watch with the required features. The Sub300t was purchased in quantity by U.S. Divers, who resold the watch in the United States.

The Jenny family of Switzerland now owns the brand. Since August 2002, Doxa has introduced re-editions of its watches and timepieces in limited quantities. Many are reproductions of the original models in design and construction, and all use Swiss movements.
