TAG Heuer Carrera Panamericana Special Edition ref: CV1A10.BA0799 Price: $2200 Fun Fact: The history of the dangerous, legendary Carrera Panamericana road race is so intertwined with TAG Heuer that in 1963, the brand's CEO, Jack Heuer, designed the iconic Carrera chronograph specifically for racing drivers competing in the event. This connection was revived when TAG Heuer became the Official Partner and Timekeeper for the race's 2015 edition, and they even presented this special edition Carrera Panamericana watch to honor the enduring partnership, making the race's spirit a fundamental part of the brand's "DNA." My Take: This watch has one prior owner and I can tell that he took exceptional care of it. It has one tiny ding on the bezel between 12 and 1, but its barely noticeable. the rest of the watch looks nearly unworn! The previous owner also has great taste. Instead of wearing this watch with the standard metal bracelet (which btw is unworn and brand new) He put on the rubber strap from the Grand Prix that looks like a classic tire tread. It looks amazing on this watch! As far as the watch itself, I have owned a couple Carreras and I like this one the best. What's the difference? The small dials. Usually you find them at 12, 9 and 6. This watch has them at 9, 6 and 3. I like this symmetry a lot. There is one small dent that is hardly noticeable between 12 and 1 and very minor scratches on the case, case back and clasp that are only visible under magnification. Mechanically it runs very well and keeps good time. The previous owner claims the battery was changed within the past 12 months. The original metal bracelet has never been worn. There aren't even handling marks on it. Both inner boxes and the material inside are in nearly new condition. The paperwork is in great condition.
