[WTS] Citizen Homer Second Setting - 1970s Japanese Vintage - $250 CONUS Shipped
Hey folks, up for sale is my vintage 1970s Citizen Homer Second Setting, all original parts and serviced in 2024. From a series of watches issued to Japanese national railway staff between the 1960s and 1970s - the caseback engraving indicates that this particular example is from 1972. Lots of cool nuances with this one: the mix of fonts between numerals and text, the graceful curves on the chamfers, and its history as a functional everyday tool. Original owner purchased from DC Vintage Watches - see another example [here](https://www.dcvintagewatches.com/product-page/1970-japanese-national-railroad-issued-citizen-homer-second-setting-watch?srsltid=AfmBOooolkYo-SOFJtmK5pPPaNgxsUxDR_UQ0qbmVXygZi0GpQwAdOn9) Specs: 36.8 mm diameter, 44.3 mm lug to lug, 9.7 mm thick, 18mm lug width Notes: * [Album with timestamp and video](https://imgur.com/a/RGaaTia) * Running really well for a vintage, I experience around +/-3 seconds per day on average. No issues with the movement itself, winds without problems. * Unpolished and in original condition, aside from two deeper scratches on the acrylic crystal (at 12 and 2, pictured) there are no significant blemishes. * A nice classic wearing experience, quite true to size. * Unlike may vintage watches that come up on the sub, this one actually has some discussion and research around it, like [here](https://musingsofawatchaddict.wordpress.com/2019/01/05/citizen-homer-second-setting-railway-watch/) Along with the watch itself, you also get: * M 115/70mm Tuns Butero Black strap, * M 115/70mm Tuns Slim Saffiano Black strap for dressier use cases * DC Vintage Watches case and strap tool it came with Happy to get on a video call or meet up in the DC area to show the watch - as someone who's gotten into vintage recently I know it's a nuanced subset of the hobby so happy to provide any info I can.
