Up for sale is a cool affordable out of my personal collection, the Watchdives WD16570 GMT! I love this Explorer 2 homage because it’s super affordable, has a really reliable Seiko NH34 movement (this one is running well within Seiko’s specs) and has a better case size vs the E2 at 39mm x 48mm x 12.9mm thick. Just really great specs for the money on this – 316L stainless steel, sapphire crystal with cyclops, screw down crown with 100m water resistance tested (designed for 200m) and nuclear BGW9 lume! Condition wise I would put this at 99%. There are very light marks on the clasp and maybe a small hairline on the polished portion of the bezel but this watch could effectively pass as like new! The movement is running really well. The sale includes the watch on bracelet, extra link, Watchdives travel case with two bracelet / springbar tools, sticker and user manual. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
