All right all right all right, the Rolex 6694! Perfect for the collector dipping a toe into vintage Rolex, or like me, for the collector who appreciates what a great moment in time this was for Rolex, going back to their roots with clean, simple, robust hand wound pieces - so much watch for under 2k! REFERENCE: 6694 SERIAL NUMBER: 2,676,XXX DATE: 1971 DIAL: Beautiful silver sunburst dial in incredible condition. Even under a loupe/macro it’s gorgeous. That sunburst POPS and original open 6 date wheel is a watch nerd detail delight! CASE: Really clean 34mm case (actually measures 34.5 on calipers, and wears like a 35 or so with the oyster case) in great condition. Light wear overall, of course mostly on the smooth bezel and sides, but about as clean as I’ve seen, including nice even brushing and still fairly thick lugs which is rare to find on these. CRYSTAL: Vintage plexi crystal has some wear seen at certain angles, as expected, but nothing that takes away from that sweet dial. MOVEMENT: Hand wound Rolex movement winds and sends beautifully, with date changing over as it should. Service history unknown, but running well with timegrapher showing 10 seconds a day and a very healthy amplitude of 287. STRAP: Comes on a gorgeous new hand made leather strap. The light brown pairs perfectly, bringing a clean modern edge. ACCESSORIES: Watch on strap only.
