Up for sale is this fantastic 1940s/1950s “big eyes” Heuer chronograph. It’s 14K gold filled in great vintage condition. I suspect it’s a ref. 419 with a Valjoux 23 movement, but vintage Heuer research is often tricky (I’ve included a picture of ad for the possible reference). It’s 35mm—a perfect vintage size, IMO. Dial: this is selling point (to me, at least). It has a rare copper dial with lovely gold painted numerals. Case: 14k gold. Case is in great shape for its age too—the biggest defect I see is that the pushers appear to have lost a bit of their gold capping on the corners (the rest of the case is solid gold). Crystal: has some small scratches, nothing major. Movement: I suspect a Valjoux 23. Ed Heuer & Co. signed. Watch is running smoothly. It’s losing less than 20 seconds/day. Chronograph resets to zero. Service history unknown. Strap: unmarked but vintage. I’d consider replacing. I realize I don’t have any previous transactions, but I’m sure we can jump on a call and get you comfortable. Watch is $2,600 net to me. I haven’t seen any similar Heuer watch in gold as cheap as this. I got a good deal on the watch so can pass that on. No returns unless I’ve grossly misrepresented something.
