Despite its amazing condition, this is NOT the limited edition reissue that was recently priced at USD$2950; this is the original (date code "NO") from 1970. This model is the Deep Sea Chronograph "A" with Surfboard Dial, purported to have been made for only about a year. The movement is essentially a Valjoux 7733. manual wind. The watch runs correctly, the chronograph resets cleanly, and the bezel turns like butter. The condition of this watch leaves little to be desired. Aside from some light marks and scratches to the case and bracelet, I can confidently say that the condition exceeds all expectations. This watch probably never saw the light of day. The color on the "666" dial remains very rich, there is no discoloration of the lume. The orange hands absolutely pop, and the original bezel shows barely a sign of fade. The original bezel pip is intact. The original acrylic crystal does appear to have a defect at 10 o'clock. I believe it to be a small crack. There is also a dent on the crystal at 7 o'clock. I'm told that original replacement crystals can still be found but YMMV. Function wise, we have zero issues to report. Upon receipt, the caseback was fused on due to an aged gasket. A quick trip to the watchmaker got us a replacement. He checked the watch over and issued a clean bill of health. The original bracelet is tight and straight, comfortable on my 6.75" wrist and with a spare link included. I'm pricing this amongst the comparables, however, this piece really is beyond compare! The right buyer might not be out there, but I do hope you all enjoy looking at the photos. I'm asking USD$2,500+shipping for this gem. Watch and I are in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
