Guinand, an incredible watch brand largely known to watch geeks, & few others, is a German tool watch company helmed by Helmit Sinn, an iconic figure in the horological world. Of course, everyone is familiar with Sinn, the German company viewed as the manufacturer of the ultimate tool watches, & Germany, long known for its engineering prowess, not surprisingly is home to the best tool watch brands in the world (Sinn, Hanhart, Stowa, Fortis, etc). Guinand, not as well known as the aforementioned companies, creates tool watches every bit the equal of Sinn (though Guinand is no mere imitator—not some ersatz Sinn, Fortis, or the like—Guinands have their own design & engineering signature). And unlike Sinn, likely because of their small size & utter lack of marketing, Guinand pieces are relatively accessible price-wise, whereas the former have completely skyrocketed (in fact, Guinand does not employ a marketing or sales department, which is one of the reasons their prices are reasonable). This spectacular chronograph, three mos old, has few, if any flea bites, making it more or less a new timepiece.
