Good evening, WatchEx! Just one for today: the Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot Gunmetal on leather. I love Oris. Always have, always will. It's hard to believe that Oris still exists today (and hasn't sold out) - they're one of the few truly independent Swiss brands to survive the quartz crisis in the 70's/80's. They've been pumping out watches seemingly forever out of the small town of Holstein, Switzerland, and their innovations have only become more and more impressive over the last decade or so. Their Big Crown line of pilot watches have long been their best sellers. The Pro Pilot is as clean and simple as they get, a proper pilots watch. Great legibility, clean practicality, and a no-fuss design. The dial is a dark gray/deep anthracite with a subtle sunray effect, white markers, and a red-tipped seconds hand. The matte finish on the hands is a really clean touch, and makes for an easy reader in any light. The gunmetal case/clasp are paired cleanly with one of Oris' extremely nice leather straps - the leather strap thins down to under 2mm at the end and loops through seatbelt buckle clasp for perfect sizing - no limitations with pre-punched holes. This PP is in excellent condition - one small mark on the bezel near 12 (see photos) that isn't really noticable on wrist. Free of scratches otherwise, crystal is clean. Keeping excellent time, purchased new in July 2023.
