This is a very rare Rolex explorer 5500 with a salmon dial patina and a pre-facelift 1530 automatic movement with the butterfly rotor. This watch shares the same case and reference number as the Rolex Air King 5500 but is classified as an Explorer. This version was only sold in Canada, and this watch also features a rare bullseye dial unique to these Canadian models. This watch used to belong to a deceased clockmaker. His collection was inherited by his family friends after his passing, and then sold to myself. Unfortunately, the original bracelet and box have been lost to time. This watch was recently serviced and is very accurate. This watch remains one of the most unique Explorer references that I have seen by far. All parts are original, and the case is unpolished.
