For sale is my rare circa 1940s-50s Mathey-Tissot chronograph running a Valjoux 22 in a 38mm stainless steel screw back case.
Mathey-Tissot produced their famous Type XX chronograph for the French military – and made other high-quality chronographs like this example. This watch is collector grade and lived in just 2 collections for the past 12 years (since 2012). The Val 22 movement was recently repaired and adjusted – the $690 receipt will be included with sale. Watch in overall VG condition.

CASE: Large 38mm (see pic next to my Submariner for size) all stainless-steel two-piece screwed case. Drilled lugs retain beveled edges. Case has surface wear expected from a 70+year-old watch - with no prominent gouges or nicks. Inside steel case back is stamped Mathey-Tissot and 8638. Oversized crown is unsigned and believed to be original. Case in overall VG condition.

DIAL & HANDS: Original stunning bi-tonal silvered dial with a 60-minute outer track, left subdial (seconds), right subdial (30-minute chrono recorder).
Some dial aging as seen in the macro pics. Radium Blued syringe hands are gorgeous and in excellent condition. Dial & hands in VG vintage condition.

MOVEMENT: Valjoux caliber 22 chronograph movement – a ton of online info available on this high-quality column wheel movement. Recently replaced chrono runner. Watch runs well. Keeps time, sets and winds as it should. Chrono pushers and chrono functions are performing as they should (watchmakers receipt included with sale – no watchmaker warranty).
