I’ve loved researching the history of this watch and although it’s not the military watch everyone knows about, the history is fascinating even down to the case.For context, this is the dial used for the pilot watch issued to RAF pilots during WWII, reference CK2292. This piece in particular doesn’t not have the markings on the case back so it was likely recased for sale to general public using the same movement during the same time. The case itself is a Dennison case which is the company that produced cases for the Air Ministry during WWII. It has fixed lugs just like the CK2292 to be easily worn with a nato strap or strap allowing for fixed lugs. Dennison did not stamp their cases with the Omega logo until the 50s which explains the missing logo inside the case. The movement serial number dates 1939-1943 but likely closer to 1943 because of number being at the higher end of the range. The blued hands remain, easily saw in person at the right angle but I tried capturing as best as possible in the photos. The case numbers are matching so the case back number 6321 matches the case as shown in the photos. Includes the Admiralty Blue strap shown and a simple travel watch case.
