For sale today is an incredible conversion watch, also known as a "marriage watch". This means that the movement and dial originally came from a pocket watch, and were placed inside a wristwatch case. What a great piece! That movement is CLEAN and minty and looks simply stunning. No damage to the dial or hands, overall I would say this piece is in mint condition. The watch is running very smoothly and keeping good time. Good amplitude on the balance wheel. Both the case and band are brand new, never worn, and in mint condition. The total watch thickness is only 9mm. A really nice size for an average man's wrist. The original watch was manufactured in Lancaster, Pennsylvania USA around 1950-1952. Powered by a Hamilton 921 American made movement. 21-jewels adjusted to 5 positions. The movement has a jeweled mainspring barrel, which is an unusual feature only seen in very high grade movements. There are also several "capped" jewel settings including the bearings for the balance wheel, bridge, and escapement wheel. There is even one gold-capped setting, which you can see in the pics. Double-roller escapement. Very fancy!!! This is a size 10s pocket watch movement. This conversion watch was made by my friend Lothar. He's an older German guy with incredible watchmaking skills, but zero internet skills. As a result, I have so far been the only person to offer his works for sale online.
