For sale today is the highly regarded Christopher Ward ‘The Twelve’ in 40mm Glacier blue dial. You already know the excellent specs - 40mm case, 44.5mm lug-to-lug, 9.95mm thick (thin!), 10 ATM, and a SW-200 movement. The watch is in excellent worn condition. The dial is immaculate and the bracelet shows some light scratches (desk diving at the clasp) that I’ve tried to capture in the photos provided. In the light, the bracelet gleams as well as any other bracelet I’ve owned before. Asking $925 shipped to the CONUS (brand new runs over $1400 on CW right now - and is on pre order for another couple months). Comes with full kit including all extra links and warranty card dated 5/2023. Only trade I’d consider is this exact same watch in 38mm. Christopher Ward was founded by Chris Ward, Mike France and Peter Ellis on a boat on the river Thames in 2004.

In 2005, Christopher Ward released their first watch which created a whole new model for the watchmaking industry. When influential watch bloggers wrote about their watches on TimeZone, Christopher Ward were being discussed more than Rolex in December 2005.

For the company’s 10th anniversary in 2014, it merged with Swiss manufacturing partners Synergies Horlogères SA to create Christopher Ward London Holdings Ltd. This culminated in the launch of Christopher Ward’s first in-house movement, Calibre SH21, in July 2014. Conceived and designed over the past four years by Christopher Ward’s watchmaker, Johannes Jahnke, the SH21 is entirely Swiss-made by some craftsmen. This release is said to be “probably the most important development by a British watch brand in the past 50 years.”

Christopher Ward London was the only watch company to rank in The Sunday Times SME Export Track 100, ranking 77th in 2015.
