The watch tells a wild story. It was originally owned by a friend of mine, who wore it regularly until it flew off his wrist and onto the highway while he was driving his GTO in the early ’80s. He tossed it in a garage drawer and left it there for decades. I took ownership some time ago and had the case and appearance restored. Dial, hands and such are untouched and the case was restored as much as possible by a capable watchmaker. The creamy tritium plots have aged into a rich pumpkin hue, and this matte white dial is one of the rarer early variants — “SWISS – T < 25” and feet-first depth rating. The 1570 movement is original, complete, but non-running. My watchmaker is backed up, so I never sent it in. Buyer has two options: 1. Buy as-is – and drop a running 1570, cheapest for \~$2.5K currently on eBay (not what I prefer as it would be original but not to the watch, something that matters to me). Or the buyer finds the parts and services the movement himself. 2.
