For sale is this Casio Baby-G BG-1000, made in Japan in 1997. This watch is very unique and has a tonne of features packed into it, most notably, probably the most sophisticated alarm/appointment settings you will find on any Casio or even any smartwatch. It lets you store up to 20 telephone numbers, set appointments and shows you how far away you are from the appointment, stopwatch chronograph, hourly chime, auto-display function as well as 100m water resistance and the ruggedness that the G-Shock range is known for.  In normal time keeping mode the G logo will rotate every 10 seconds or by pressing the "24h" pusher, if you have an appointment set for the current day, there will be a time graph showing how far through the day you are and show you visually how close (time-wise) to your appointment you are. When you are one hour from your appointment time, the date/month section will change to show minutes and seconds from your appointment time and the chosen symbol for the appointment will start to flash. The telememo feature lets you input home & mobile numbers per contact up to 20 slots.  It will display a different animation every time you press the EL backlight and sometimes the little characters will make mistakes like falling over or the DJ accidentally breaking the record that he throws, it's very endearing!  The extensive alarm/appointment system lets to set up to 5 independent alarms/appointments within the hour, minutes, month, date and day of the week, each with their own independent icon or letter/number to better remind you of the purpose of each alarm/appointment. Here are some examples of the settings you can set for each alarm/appointment. • Hour, minutes only - Alarm sounds at the preset time every day.  • Hour, minutes, month - Alarm sounds at the preset time every day during the specified month.  • Hour, minutes, day - Alarm sounds at the preset time on the specified day every month.  • Hour, minutes, month, day - Alarm sounds at the preset time annually on the specified day.  • Hour, minutes, day of the week - Alarm sounds at the preset time every week on the specified day.  • Hour, minutes, month, day of the week - Alarm sounds at the preset time every week on the specified day during the specified month.  • Hour, minutes, day, day of the week - Alarm sounds at the preset time every time the specified day falls on specified day of the week.  • Hour, minutes, month, day, day of the week - Alarm sounds at the preset time every time the specified day falls on specified day of the week in the specified month. Note that this type of setting may result in an alarm that sounds only one every few years. The stopwatch chronograph also has split time and displays a running man when the stopwatch is running. The case looks extra industrial as it is missing its outer resin shell that was removed before I bought it but the condition is excellent and I think it's a better stylistic choice especially paired with the red rubber strap. The watch functions as it should and the crystal is without any scratches. Please bear in mind that this is not a brand new item as it is from 1997 (almost 30 years old).
