Cauny is a well-known brand in Portugal and Spain. The Swiss company started producing watches in the 40s for these markets, eventually reaching a cult status. Unfortunately, they’re usually well-worn by enthusiasts. Well, not this one! I’ve never seen another Cauny Alarm from the 70s in such good condition. The case and dial look untouched, while the crown and crystal only have very minor usage marks. Inside is an AS 1475 caliber, with 17 jewels and a beat rate of 18,000 bph. The crown at 4 is used to wind and set the time. As for the crown at 2, it’s used to wind the alarm and set it. The alarm time can only be set reverse, as setting forward is inhibited by a freewheel. You must pull the crown to activate the alarm. Warning: it's loud! **Details & More** **Condition:** Excellent for its age. The crown and crystal have very minor markings.
