[WTS] Credor “Big Date” GCLP993 – the Only Big Date Movement, Spring Drive or Otherwise, Found in a High-End Seiko
# Reference: **Model:** Credor “Big Date” GCLP993 **Production Date:** July 2016 **Timestamp:** [https://imgur.com/a/95RINwT](https://imgur.com/a/95RINwT) **Album:** [https://imgur.com/a/1yEJKId](https://imgur.com/a/1yEJKId) # Features: **The Origin.** Whether we’re talking about mechanical movements or spring drives, the only modern, high-end Seiko movement with a Big Date complication is the 7R87 Spring Drive. It’s exclusively used by Credor, and even more surprisingly, there are only a handful of models within Credor that even use the movement… and they’re all discontinued. Hopefully, you’re just as confused as I am. Everyone loves Big Dates, don’t they? Seiko certainly used to think so. In the 2000s, they had a huge range of Big Dates on offer, but in recent years, they’ve all disappeared, leaving the Seiko GPS Astron to carry the Big Date flag. **The Design.** The GCLP993 white lacquered dial resembles the smooth surface of a piano key. Adorned with painted a logo, markers, and power reserve indicator, it radiates pure elegance. Paired with one of Credor’s supple leather straps, it’s a refined choice - equally at home in the office or at a black-tie event. **The Spring Drive.** The tactile ritual of winding a watch is hard to explain to those who haven’t experienced it - it’s almost become a meditative part of my morning routine. With the 7R87 Spring Drive, removing the automatic rotor not only enhances the manual-winding experience but also ensures that the beauty of the movement isn’t obscured. **The Dimensions.** The absence of the rotor also trims down the case thickness, giving this Spring Drive a more traditionally dressy profile. At just 9.7mm thick, it’s slimmer than any Grand Seiko Spring Drive on the market. **The Finish.** As expected from a Credor at this price point, every detail is meticulously hand-finished, from the hands to the case and indices. A notable design choice is the fully polished case, which features no brushing whatsoever - a deliberate nod to vintage dress watches that came before it. # Details: **The Condition**: In great condition.
