Do you know what’s even rarer than having the opportunity to find mint Tri-Compax 22536, Compur 22519, and Uni-Compax 22271—with unique dials—at a price where I could have sold each one three times over? 🤭
Today, I am offering you this exceptional Universal Watch Compur, one of the very first two-button chronographs ever created. Dating from around 1935, just one year after the deposit of the “Compur” patent and the creation of the first two-button chronograph, this watch is a true collector’s gem.
- Case: 18k gold with no major dents or scratches. The back shows some wear marks and minor scuffs, which is expected for a nearly 90-year-old piece.
- Dial: An extremely rare “Sandwich” dial featuring a gold plate beneath a black glossy finish. The dial is well preserved despite two minor superficial scratches around the 7 and 9, and all inscriptions remain intact.
- Movement: The watch runs great; however, no precise timekeeping testing have been performed.
- Service: This watch was completely serviced by Luc Monnet, “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” in the watchmaking category. I invested significantly in this service because I believed this special piece deserved the best.
The photos were taken under direct sunlight, so please note that most of the small defects you may notice are dust and are not visible during daily wear.
Price:
The last similar watch sold for USD 22,500 (source available) and another for about EUR 9,000 back in 2022, in similar condition.
