Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.* It is still hard to believe this dial was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois in the early 1900s. Growing up in Evanston, Illinois in the late 1900s, with Chicago and its suburbs as our backyard, Elgin was just another town we passed through—never realizing the history it held. Yet, here we are, nearly a century later, working on a piece crafted by the Elgin National Watch Company in 1925. This watch features a flawless porcelain-enamel dial—free of chips, cracks, or hairlines. The pink center with golden motifs at the edge looks incredible, and the Roman numerals round out the design. Under the hood is a 17-jewel in-house Elgin movement. We hand-polished the brass jewel settings to restore their original luster and carefully refinished the nickel-plated movement plates to bring back their bright shine without damaging the delicate decorative patterns. After all, a dial this good has to have a movement to match. Expertly converted right here in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. **Price**: $2,349, But absolutely negotiable—especially to someone with an interest in getting involved in vintage American watchmaking. **Case**: 316L stainless, 44 mm diameter, 47 mm lug to lug (52 mm with crown), 13 mm height, front/back sapphire crystals.
