Vantage was a sub-brand of Hamilton Watch Company, which was started in the 1960s. It was cheaper than Hamilton, and the idea was to position Vantage as a low-price competitor to brands like Timex. The Standard Watch Company was a Hamilton subsidiary that assembled movements with imported parts. Usually these watches would have gold or chrome plated cases to keep the prices down but this one is a full stainless steel case with screw back, which meant it was on the higher end of Vantage watches. The case wears extremely well and the size is just perfect.
