Reason for the sale:
The Taisetsu is a wonderful watch, but I never really managed to properly connect with it. I hope to find it a more deserving home.
Condition:
The watch head has a few microscratches (probably picked up from brushing against clothing) but is otherwise like new. The bracelet shows some fine scratches, mostly in the usual "desk diver" area. Please inspect the hi-res pictures in the next post carefully for the exact condition.
History:
Bought it directly from my local Grand Seiko AD in December 2022. It was worn as part of a 4 watch rotation and has seen the equivalent of about 6-8 weeks of daily wear. After a couple of months, while doing some macro photography, I noticed that the "Grand Seiko" printing on the dial had some small imperfections (something you could not see with the naked eye, difficult even with a loupe). After discussing the issue with my AD I decided to send it in. GS were very professional and replaced the dial, no questions asked. The new dial is impeccable! See the service letter in the group photo for more details.
Timekeeping:
This 9R65 spring drive movement is extremely accurate: +2s/month.
