It’s the single-logo successor to the SBGX085, whicih was only sold at master shops in Japan. You’ll notice its case shape is more sporty and robust than the typical SBGX cases and it has reversed finishing (brushed where it’d usually be polished and vice versa). This mix of elegant finishing and GS-style angularity is what first drew me to this specific reference. And the dial has a gorgeous grey-silver sunburst finish with a contrasting satin finish on the chapter ring, giving the dial an almost pie pan-like effect. Add the heat-blued seconds hand, those iridescent indices, and the legendary 9F HAQ movement, and you get a watch that’s incredibly sleek, sophisticated, and reliable.
