This true GMT timepiece from the famed Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka was shortlisted for the 2023 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève Challenge prize and has received extensive praise for its elegance and functionality. Get your hands on a fine piece of haute horologie for a reasonable price! The attention to detail on the GMT 1 is stunning. The rounded case is truly unique and mesmerizing to observe in person. The three-tone dial dances in natural light, and the colors (black, crimson, and gray) play off one another beautifully. The high-polish leaf hands, the bi-directional coin-edged bezel, the day-night bezel indicators - the watch packs a plethora of features into its 38mm case. The watch is legible and easy to adjust, all while hearkening back to the high modernist aesthetics of the early twentieth century. This particular watch is in like-new condition. I cannot see a blemish on the case or crystal, and the lush, soft leather strap has only slight creases from 5 or so wears.
