A handsome art deco-style vintage manual-wind chronograph by the Swiss brand Dulux, circa approximately the 1950s, with a Landeron movement. The steel case is in honest unpolished shape, with scratches and wear to the edges of the lugs, but it’s the dial that steals the show: an aged creamy silvery-metallic dial with circular engraved subdials, golden leaf-shaped hands, gold filled-in Art Deco numerals and golden divots at the 1, 5, 7 and 11-hour markers. The font on the numerals are particularly lovely and unusual, and catch the light when you turn and wear the watch. There is some wear and aging to the dial, but the watch really is much more beautiful in person than the photos can get across. The pushers appear to be original but the crown may not be, as it has a slightly faded gold color. I have the watch on a Hirsch honey camel-grained leather strap, 18mm, which fits my 7-inch wrist perfectly, with room for both larger and smaller-sized wrists. The crystal looks good without any major scratches. The Landeron movement is running strong but I’m not aware of the service history so keep that in mind. The crown pulls and pushes in easily and the hands turn smoothly. The chronograph function stops and resets crisply back to 12 o’clock, though the starter pusher is slightly sluggish to spring back, though it functions ok. Any other questions, please ask!
