The White Shadow is one of Genta’s most understated designs. Powered by the Microtor Caliber 1-66 (thinnest automatic movement at the time), it was elegant and mechanically serious. However, that’s not what makes this watch special. The star of the show is the ultra-rare green enamel dial. In fact, there are only pictures of one other example like it. The deep, glossy finish features spider cracks that come from decades of honest wear, but in good condition regardless. The reference 866101, also known as the OG White Shadow, features a rounder, softer case profile. It has honest scratches and some wear, but most importantly, it doesn’t appear to have been polished. According to the serial, it was made in 1967. Another thing that makes this example quite unique is the original UG-signed mesh bracelet. It’s long (fits up to a 8’’ – 8.5’’ wrist), and honestly, one of the most comfortable we’ve ever tried. This is as collector-grade as Universal Genève watches can get.  **Details & More** **Reference:** 866101, Serial 283XXXX – dates it to 1967.  **Condition:** Good. Some markings and scratches on the case, but it appears unpolished and still retains sharp edges.
