This is the watch that fully introduced Taro Tanaka’s Grammar of Design to the King Seiko line—sharp, architectural, and unapologetically precise. The stainless steel case measures approximately 36.5–37mm with a lug-to-lug of around 43mm, striking an ideal balance between vintage elegance and modern wearability. The case architecture is all about flat planes and razor-defined edges, finished with high-polish surfaces that catch the light beautifully. It’s bold without being bulky, refined without losing presence. The silver sunburst dial is clean and highly legible, fitted with faceted applied indices and sharp hands that reflect Seiko’s obsession with clarity and symmetry. Paired with a tall, thick acrylic crystal, the watch carries that unmistakable mid-1960s Japanese dress-watch charm. Inside is the hand-wound Caliber 44A, a 25-jewel movement beating at 18,000 vph. Known for its reliability and accuracy, it features hacking seconds (on later production examples) and Diashock protection. Turning the watch over reveals the iconic gold medallion on the screw-down case back—a hallmark of high-grade King Seiko models and a reminder of the pride Seiko placed in this line. This example remains in great condition for its age, showing little scratches and no dents fitting for its age. The dial is clean and crisp with no sign of aging, the crystal is clear. It has been recently serviced and is keeping great time at +/-5s a day. The watch comes fitted on custom leather straps. Watch comes with standard watch box (no papers).
