Dear members,
for sale is an Omega OT 2918 in a 33.5mm 18k rose gold case. The condition is nice for its age, with a few signs of wear here and there, but no mistreatment, not polished and of course an original waffle dial, which already has some patina. The little star on it is interpreted in different ways; one nice story, for example, is this:
‘The gilt star applied under the Omega logo signifies that this watch (intended for the Brazilian market) has the same calibre as that which broke all records at the 1940 Kew-Teddington precision competition.’
I would be satisfied if it was just a suggestion along the lines of ‘as precise as a Constellation’.
Contrary to the appearance of some of my photos, which have only been edited in terms of brightness/contrast, the rose gold tone can also be found harmoniously on all the hands, the applied indices and the winding crown, which can be seen especially in the picture with the white background. The plastic crystal seems to be the only part of this watch that has ever been replaced.

Not much needs to be said about the interior: Cal. 267, an ultra-solid, well-engineered, ingeniously constructed and precise movement with an impressingly big Glycidur balance, Breguet hairspring, large barrel - and a pleasingly extensive supply of spare parts. The watch has not been serviced for years because it has not been worn often. It is therefore better to give it a cleaning for daily wear. The balance oscillates well, the accuracy is within the typical range for this movement.
The caseback closes as it should and is not worn out.
Whether the watch is ‘rare’ is not for me to judge. At least you don't find many on the internet.
I would like €1050 for it, shipping would have to be discussed. I am happy to offer a personal handover.
