Merkur GMT Pilot (Spanish Black) – Nice Sinn homage from Merkur that is getting tougher to find these days as the Black and Spanish Black dials appear to be sold out. Design is a bit of a Sinn mashup, but the main inspiration comes from the 857 UTC. Case is brushed on top with polished sides and drilled lugs. There are some light scratches on the sides, but that is to be expected with polishing. Movement is based on the ETA 2836-2 with the day function converted to a GMT hand. Movement: Hangzhou HZ6460 (4Hz GMT) Case size: 40mm (lug-to-lug \~48mm); \~14mm depth (about 2mm from the crystal), Lug width: 20mm Crystal: Bubble sapphire $200 USD F&F (or $210 G&S) Proxima PX1711 white dial. Very nice Serica homage with a few distinct differences (applied indices, slight changes to the hands and bezel insert, etc.). Crystal is very clear with blue AR coating and appears to be double domed. Issue of note: There is a bump/scratch on the bottom portion of the case where it meets the bezel. See photo(s). Beautiful light blue MOP dial with minute indices on the chapter ring. Some light scratching on the polished sides and rear of the case, but overall in good condition. Bezel action is tight with good alignment. Crystal is slightly domed and appears to have a decent amount of AR coating. Issue of note: there is a scratch on the bezel insert from -0- to around the 8 minute mark. Comes with original travel case.
