I’ve enjoyed collecting, but my focus has shifted, so I’m letting go of my 2 remaining pieces - this is the first of them, the Rolex 124060 will follow. For about a year, I wore it in rotation with my Rolex DSSD. Absolutely loved seeing the polar dial hit the sunlight, a little orange pop from the GMT hand and knowing I had a low key monster on my wrist. If you know, you know. The Explorer 2 is one of the coolest, and most useful models Rolex makes, and the 42mm size wears perfectly for most. At least in my opinion. I appreciate the fixed, brushed dial. It’s not ceramic like other Rolex, and it’s not bi/unidirectional like the GMT’s. It just sits there looking awesome. Always in the same position. Literally, zero complaints. It wears light, goes with any outfit and there’s thousands of inexpensive strap options to customize the look if you choose to go that route. SERVICE Initially sent to RSC for timekeeping issues in March 2020, but due to COVID lockdown delays, it was returned many months later without a satisfactory fix. I then had it serviced by the Eugene Rolex AD, who resolved the issue completely. I have receipts for both services. With the Eugene service, they included a Rolex Travel Pouch w/insert, which I’m throwing in. I figure if anything came with the Explorer II, for any reason, you can have it. Except the chocolates, I ate those. By 2021, I purchased a Sub ND and wore that full-time. Since then, this EXP2 has mostly remained in a watch winder with only occasional wear. CONDITION There are some light swirls and typical bracelet/clasp marks from daily use. I did not touch anything up or recondition the watch in any way.
