Hi everyone, for sale today is a nice Omega Cosmic 166.026

1. General introduction
A very nice stainless steel Omega Cosmic 166.026, 35mm, yellow-tone sand dial, black painted hour markers with lume, original Omega 1503/523 bracelet (19 links).
Brand: Omega; Model: Seamaster Cosmic; Reference: 166.026.

2. Detail

Dial: Original yellow-tone sand dial in good condition. Small stains at “Omega”, above hour marker 4 and faded minute markers number 31, 32 (as shown in photos below) . Black painted hour markers; baton hands with lume and black paint; faceted date-aperture frame; prints, hands, hour markers, lume are all good.
Case: The diameter is 35mm without the crown in fair condition, sunburst brushed visible. Original Omega knurled crown.
Movement: Caliber 565 with quickset date function. The watch is running, all functions work as they should. Serial number is 27807175, dated to 1968. Freshly serviced in Mar 2025.

Glass: Original high dome glass with Omega logo, no visible scratches.
Bracelet: Original Omega 7 row bracelet reference 1503 with 523 end-links (19 links, 01 removable). All links are in very good condition but there are two links that sticked together (00:45 in the Youtube clip); triple fold clasp featuring micro-adjust with Omega logo.
Accessory: Watch only.
Overall, this is a nice example of the reference.

Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
