For sale: Seiko 6309-7040 “Turtle” with Suwa factory dial dating to January 1979. I am unsure of this timepiece’s provenance or the service history. I originally thought the markers had been relumed, but after seeing that the lume on other 1979 6309-7040s all seem to have the same “thickness” that this one has, I’m inclined to think it’s original. It still glows, but nearly as brightly as new lume. Minor scratches to case, no issues with crown, crystal surprisingly unscathed. The  bezel turns without being too loose or too stiff and has few scratches. The dial is faded, as you can see. The band is an Archer NATO strap. Long story short, this probably never saw water deeper than a bathtub, as it is in much better shape than most of the specimens I’ve seen on eBay, etc.
