This was a special find that I've had in my collection for a while, but I'm ready to let someone else enjoy it. It's a 1965 ref 889980 Sportsman Calendar in NOS unworn condition with original packaging and tags. The watch, bracelet, inner box, and tags are totally pristine. The outer cardboard box has some damage; it is complete, but has some stains and the top flap has separated.

The watch itself is approximately 36mm in diameter with a lovely silver sunburst sector dial. It's very similar to an Alpinist from the era, but with a date function. The hands are lumed, including the arrow tip of the sweep hand. The watch comes with its rare original bracelet, unsized and unworn. I really don't want to tamper with the watch, but I tested the winding, setting, and date-change, and everything works. I have never worn it, and obviously I'm not going to open it. The next owner will receive it in pristine condition.

The Seahorse case-back and SW crown are indications of early waterproof Seiko models. It has a Seiko STP case. If you're not familiar with these cases, I suggest a google search, which may lead you down a rabbit hole. Some people claim that it refers to stainless plated. Interestingly, this watch has a tag attached that notes "stainless steel" but I would prefer not to speculate too much because this has been an issue of interest to Seiko collectors more knowledgeable than me for many years.
