I love sourcing watches from this period in Seiko's design history.  They're typically a little more reserved, but have sneaky little details that you can only see when you look more closely. In this example, the case is simple - it's a stainless steel rectangle(ish).  Seiko shaved the corners then beveled them to make an octagonal shape that plays with the light as it shifts.  The brushed bezel and polished sides continue the motif.   The dial has a central section of vertical embossing - it reminds me of the furrows of a Zen Garden.  The surrounding area is vertically brushed, with a mix of painted and applied indices.  The 12 index is massive and polished.  Polished dauphine hands keep everything sharp.  The strap is a fine mesh that's silky and drapey.  There are some minor areas where the mesh doesn't lay perfectly flat, but on the wrist it isn't noticeable.  It'll fit a wrist of just over 8".
