Seiko SBBN040 1978 Golden Tuna reissue
At Baselworld 2018, Seiko launched the Limited Edition 1978 Golden Tuna reissue, limited to 1978 numbered examples globally, to mark the 40th anniversary of the original Golden Tuna. This was famous for being the world's first quartz-powered saturation diving watch, which was helium-safe without needing a helium escape valve, thanks to the design of a special 'L'-shaped gasket under the crystal.
For many, this watch is the ‘holy grail’ of tunas, with the perfect mix of 1970's retro styling (including the handset and famous ‘crop circle’ dial) and up-to-date technology (including sapphire crystal, modern lume, 1000m water resistance, and serviceable at Seiko).
This is the very sought-after and rarely available SBBN040 Japanese Domestic Market model, with the Kanji date wheel (the international model is S23626).
This watch comes with:

• Original protection stickers on strap buckle and keeper
This watch has been kept as part of a collection, only worn to be photographed, and otherwise kept in mint condition, locked away in its box, in the condition as received from the authorised dealer. The case, shroud, bezel and sapphire crystal are all absolutely as new, the original rubber strap is soft and pliable, completely unmarked, with buckle and keeper both protected by its original plastic film.
This watch is in the UK, meaning no import taxes for UK buyers, happy to sell internationally too.
