It is limited to 500 pieces made for the USA market. It runs on Grand Seiko’s 9S66 caliber. I know this watch and market for it well. The supply has officially dried up. You will only find secondary market new or preowned watches trading, and none for this low price. The blue dial is amazing. For this price, you won't find a new automatic 9S66 Caliber Grand Seiko anywhere. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the Hodinkee association. What impresses me is that this model is the same as the classic SBGM221 behind the unique blue dial, and only 500 were made. This is an excellent deal on a brand-new Grand Seiko. In typical Grand Seiko design, the blue dial gives so many looks as the light hits it from varied angles. If you love blue dials and Grand Seiko this watch is a winner.
