**A lightweight titanium Perpetual Calendar from Seiko’s JDM “Big Date” Kinetic line.** *I’m ProvenanceWatches - long story short; I’ve temporarily lost normal normal access to my Account, so I’m posting on my old account. Happy to verify via Instagram/my Website if you would like proof that this is my secondary account.* **Model**: SAGV007 Seiko “Big Date” Perpetual Calendar **Year**: July 2006 **Video**: Click here to see a [video of the watch in action.](https://www.instagram.com/p/C71FJz1I03n/) **Features**: ***- Kinetic*** A 7D48 “Kinetic” movement. Kinetic movements originally served as a hybrid pre-cursor to the Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive movement. Just like in an automatic mechanical watch, your arm/wrist movements spin a rotor that powers the watch. However, unlike a standard automatic movement, energy is stored in a capacitor and then passed through quartz crystal. ***- Perpetual***: The main complication is a leap year Perpetual Calendar with Big Date. The main concern with an automatic perpetual calendar is the inconvenience of having to regularly reset it when it runs out of power. However, thanks to the “relay mode” you won’t have to worry about that as your watch will enter a hibernation state if you don’t wear it for a day. While hibernating the watch stops ticking, but a tiny IC stays powered and keeps track of the time and date. As soon as you pick the watch up the hands spring to life and the calendar and time set themselves accurately. It can stay in a state of hibernation for up to four years! ***- The Advantages***. Being a hybrid between mechanical and quartz has several distinct advantages. Thanks to the quartz crystal the watch is accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month. However, unlike a quartz watch you don’t need to replace a battery every 1 or 2 years as the “battery” isn’t generating the power; your movement is. The recommended replacement for a Kinetic Capacitor is every 10-20 years. When fully powered, the watch has a huge 10-day power reserve, plus the aforementioned 4-year hibernation state if the watch is unworn. ***- The Strap***: Has the original leather strap and deployant buckle from Seiko. It is shaped to perfectly fit the case. ***- High-End***. It was a part of Seiko’s luxury line up at the time of release, costing $1300 in 2006. It features a sapphire crystal and a titanium cushion case with the original soft leather strap. **Condition**: In very good condition overall. There are hairline scratches on the case. The most noticeable markings are on the polished case back. Despite its fantastic resistance to corrosion and general damage, titanium does pick up marks easily, especially when it has a high-polish finish like the case back. The photos represent the condition well. **Scope**: No original box or papers. Shipped in a Provenance Watches leather case. **Movement**: 7D48 Kinetic Hybrid. 10-20 years of “battery” life, according to Seiko’s specs. 10-day power reserve, and a 4-year hibernation state if the watch is unworn. **Case Width**: 40mm **Case Thickness**: 12.8mm **Lug width:** 22mm **Price**: Offered at **$1700** plus shipping (sent from Japan). I accept Wise, Paypal, Credit/Debit Cards and Bank Transfer, depending on your transaction history. Fees paid by you. **Of note**: Nothing to report [Album](https://imgur.com/a/swFCigO) [Proof](https://imgur.com/a/RSbrcuL)
