Here’s a very cool watch that pairs great design details with a rugged and reliable build quality. The Vero Workhorse Canyon edition comes in a desert-inspired colorway and makes for an excellent tool watch and a nice alternative to the Seiko tuna’s of the past. Despite what the numbers around the dimensions suggest, the 44.5mm case actually wears a lot smaller due to the sloping lugs. Don’t get me wrong – at a height of 13.5mm, it’s hefty, for sure, but in a way that feels solid and gives confidence when worn outdoors. The rubberized steel bullhorns protect the already strong Cerakote (ceramic-coated) stainless steel case, along with its pristine sapphire crystal with AR coating. I’ve paired the watch with a high-viz orange rubber strap from Barton Watch Bands and it matches the rest of the design beautifully. Included is also the original sand-colored velcro strap from Vero.
