Hello,
Sold!!, a watch i modified as much to my liking as i could get it, so if you like
what i like, you're in luck today, because this was not a cheap mod. Here's the parts
list:
Cost of watch new $180
Uncle Seiko Bracelet $ 84
Lumed day & date wheels $ 35
Bead Blasting $100
Tokielab Slim Caseback $ 20
Tokeilab Dial and Hands $ 58
Total Cost $477
( not including labor, that's on me.)
i always think it's such a hoot when people mod watches and then say in their ads that
they just want their money back! Well, i was trying to make a sort of dress watch for myself,
it's my only watch without a rotating bezel ( except for a chronograph or two,) and if it had
a rotating bezel, then i'd keep it, but i'm downsizing, and i really don't get dressed up too much
these days. So, as a result, it's got very little wear on it.
What does it come with? Good question...no box or papers, but, original bracelet with hang
tags, original display caseback, original dial and hands, original day and date wheels, and
3 spare links for the Uncle Seiko, so it should accomodate pretty close to an 8" wrist. I forgot
to put the original caseback into the group photo, so it's in the last shot instead.
Dimensions of the watch as it is now are: 39.8mm x 44.1mm x 10.8mm with the slim
caseback on it. It wears on the wrist excellently, and will fit most people.
Case has been carved and bead-blasted. It's a very durable finish. There are a few micro
marks on the case that are invisible to the eye, the camera really exaggerates them. The
watch has been worn maybe 10 times. Any lint or dust is on the outside of the crystal.
As a tip, i'd add that a white rubber pencil eraser is an excellent burnishing tool for a
watch like this. A bead-blasted finish is almost like suede, durable and adjustable.
BGW9 lume on the dial/hands/day & date wheels all matches, and is luminous through a
whole night if given a good charge. The original chapter ring is in the watch, it would be
very easy to swap the original dial and hands back in if that's what you want.
All work was done by Duarte Mendonca, and i didn't include his labor in the parts list
above, that's on me. But, all work on the watch has been done by a professional.
SOLD
I am going to start by asking $175 via paypal F&F. It's hard to find it for sale new at
that price, all original parts come with it, and it's got very little wear on it, it also keeps
really decent 4R35 time, within spec. You can write to me here or at [email protected]
reasonable offers are welcome, and i'll bump it down every few days until it's sold.
it's sold.
I don't have a cell phone, so i might not be able to get back to you immediately, please do
not freak out over that!
Thanks to TheWatchSite, and thanks for looking.
